At the time I thought that was just dumb.
"No," I thought, "they do NOT grow up fast."
But now as they begin leaving home, it seems they ARE growning up fast.
I did not expect to appreciate their intelligence, capability and problem solving so soon.
Sometimes they gravitate to the kitchen in a crowd, to sit on the counter, stepping over dogs, slicing tomatoes, stirring and tasting things.
I didn't expect to find so much satisfaction in their success, enjoyment in their company and sense of humour. It has been an unexpected pleasure.
