Iotta admit Bogota is doing a lot to make the city more livable.There is a big campaign to take care of parks, with so many city-sponsored activities, and events like Alimentarte. Every year, during two weekends, restaurants set up their kiosks all along Parque el Virrey. For 2 weekends people walk and look and taste and listen to great music; everything from Vallenato to a police band playing traditional musica andina to rock bands playing Michael Jackson.
Last weekend we just HAD to try cuy, that is guinea pig which is eaten in the southernmost Colombian Andes. I tried a little bit, very oily and gamey.
This weekend, we went straight for ceviche, papas a la guacaina and chiguiro. We listened to musica llanera and ate with gusto as Mark and Kris ran the media maraton this morning and it all tasted wonderful.
As we left, Mark sighed "Chiguiro and ice cream, God LOVES Colombia!"
