Written Without Permission For His Birthday

The problem with Kris is that he doesn't talk about himself.
He prefers to talk about ideas, current events and books.
He doesn't tell people "I'm a colonel, a fighter pilot, diplomat"
He doesn't say it, so people don't know it, and treat him like a regular guy.

Except he's not a regular guy--he's extraordinary.
He doesn't mark his scriptures because he doesn't have to:
it's all in his head. He knows dates and facts from history and is always interesting to talk to because he has it all in his random access memory

He is tireless: after a 16 hour day he tutors his kids in math and
THEN takes them to the church for an activity and THEN drives everyone there home (since no one has a ride)and THEN walks the dog before bed.
He can walk all day and is still endlessly optimistic.
...Which is a real plus for all of us in his sphere.

The problem is that he doesn't hate his enemy, and sees good and interesting things in foreign places and respects the fellow he meets in unknown places...

But it's not a problem for me! I love all that stuff, and it appears my children do too.
