We broke the bank and went to see Mark and Mai in China: 3 days in Beijing, and 10 days in Chengdu.
You know us, we ran everyday to see pagodas, temples, and statues. We ate food so spicy it brought tears. We were in close quarters in small hotel spaces and airline seats. The Tour guide was mystified when we ran ahead to see everything and left her behind. We talked noisily in tiny restaurants and on buses. On the trip from Beijing to Chengdu, Mark led us from train to metro to taxi as we hurried 8 people through the transportation "maze"
What I noted above all, is that we didn't get tired of each other. I must have done something right during the growth of these vibrant and interesting people.
