We Celebrate Canada Day at the Canadian Embassy

I have often remarked that US embassies look like fortresses, and the one in Ottawa is just an eyesore, the americans we met were always apologizing for it.

The Canadian embassy in Washington DC is built for beauty, and the outside grounds include a patio for a big picnic, hanging gardens from upper floors, Haida art (you can see it in the picture) a rotunda, and pretty fountain.

Folks like us can go inside as far as the security gates, but that means the big theatre with a live feed to see the queen's speech, a basketball-sized gym (we did some yoga!) an art gallery, and a model of the "Bluenose"

Michael decided that doing a slapshot into a goal was harder than it looks.
