It Didn't Turn Out to Be As Old as I Thought It Would Be

I had such a trauma
when I realized I was about to turn 50.
(that's f-i-f-t-y)
That number would just not come out of my mouth.

But now that the fatal date
(half-a-century!) has passed
It's still me

What a relief!
