The Fair in Chia

Marcela and I went to Chia on Saturday to see the parade and cultural presentations. I was glad to see some presentations from all over Colombia that are hard for us to get to see. There were dances from "blanco and negro" some from carnaval de Barranquilla, music from Cartagena, some vallenato, lots of typical dances from all over. I thought everything was well done.

Again it was noticeable that the performers were very young. It's hard to convey the high energy of the dancers, but they are very very good. The municipal band from one place had musicians from age 10 (the saxophone was as big as he was) to about age 15 but their music was easily as good as any other municipal band.
